Why Google Search Console matters

Google Search Console is where your real search data lives. Without it, SnowSEO cannot show your website traffic, historical rankings, or search performance. It is the single integration that unlocks the majority of the platform.

For established sites, SnowSEO can pull up to 16 months of historical data from GSC. This means you see trends and patterns immediately, not just a snapshot from today.

Before you connect

Make sure you are signed in with the Google account that has access to your property. You need at least Restricted permission on that GSC property. If you do not have access, ask the property owner to add you in Google Search Console.

Check that your domain in SnowSEO matches your GSC property exactly. This includes whether it uses www or not. SnowSEO and GSC treat acme.com and www.acme.com as separate properties.

How to connect

  • Go to Brand Settings

  • Click Connect Google Search Console

  • Sign in with your Google account

  • Select the matching property from the dropdown

  • Click confirm

One GSC property can be linked per Brand. If you manage multiple sites, create a separate Brand for each and connect the matching property.

My property is not showing in the dropdown

Try these in order:

  1. Make sure you are signed into the correct Google account

  2. Verify you have at least Restricted access to that property

  3. Check that the domain matches exactly, including www

  4. Try disconnecting and reconnecting Google in Brand Settings

  5. Wait a few minutes and refresh the page

If none of these work, email [email protected].
