Disconnecting integrations, permissions, and webhooks

What happens when you disconnect an integration, what permissions SnowSEO needs, and how to use the webhook for custom setups.

What happens when you disconnect an integration

Disconnecting removes the active connection but does not delete your historical data.

What is removed

  • The access token or API key

  • Real-time data syncing stops

  • Automated publishing to that CMS stops

What is preserved

  • All historical data already pulled into SnowSEO

  • Articles and reports generated while the integration was active

  • Keyword rankings and traffic data from past crawls

Example: if you disconnect Google Analytics 4, you stop seeing new session data, but all past traffic charts and reports remain visible. If you reconnect the same GA4 property later, syncing resumes from where it left off.

Reconnecting the same integration

You can reconnect at any time. For OAuth integrations like Google Search Console and Analytics:

  • Click Connect again

  • Sign in with the same Google account

  • Select the same property

  • Data syncing resumes immediately

For API key integrations like Ghost or Webflow, re-enter your API key and the connection is restored.

Reconnecting does not duplicate data. It simply restores the pipeline.

What permissions SnowSEO needs

Google Search Console

  • Read-only access to your search performance data

  • Cannot modify your site or submit changes to Google

  • Uses OAuth 2.0, so your password is never stored

Google Analytics 4

  • Read-only access to your traffic and user behaviour data

  • Cannot create events or goals, or modify your GA4 setup

CMS integrations (WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, Framer, Grigora)

  • Read and write access to publish articles

  • Can create posts and update existing ones

  • Does not delete your CMS content unless you explicitly unpublish from SnowSEO

Bing Webmaster Tools

  • Read access to Bing search data

  • Can submit URLs for indexing via IndexNow

Webhook

  • Sends article data to the endpoint you specify

  • You control what happens to the data on your end

What is the webhook integration

The webhook integration lets you send published articles to any URL you control.

Use cases

  • A custom headless CMS not listed in SnowSEO

  • An internal content management system

  • Zapier or Make automation

  • Slack or Discord notifications

  • A backup pipeline

How it works

  • Go to Settings -> Integrations -> CMS Publishing and expand Webhook

  • Enter your HTTPS endpoint URL

  • Generate or enter a secure access token

  • When you publish an article, SnowSEO POSTs the data to your URL

  • Your system receives it and does whatever you want with it

What the payload includes

  • Article title, content, meta description, and tags

  • Featured image URL

  • SEO score and keyword data

  • Publication timestamp

Why some integrations show "Coming soon"

Some integrations are listed in the dashboard but not yet connectable. These carry a Coming soon badge, and the badge is not plan related. They are unavailable on every plan until they launch.

Available now, in case you assumed otherwise: WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, Framer, Grigora, Webhook, Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, PostHog, Plausible, Bing Webmaster Tools, IndexNow, and Google PageSpeed Insights.

Connect what is available now. When new integrations launch, they appear automatically in your Integrations panel.
