How far can I go with Tier 1 and 500 credits?

500 credits gets you roughly 5 short articles (100 credits each) or 33 prompt responses (15 credits each), or any mix of the two. Keyword tracking, audits, and analytics do not use AI credits at all.

If you publish 8 articles a month, you will want either a higher tier or extra credits.

Do add-on credits expire?

No. Extra credits do not expire and have lifetime validity.

Which gets used first, monthly quota or extra credits?

Your monthly quota is always used first. Extra credits are only drawn on once the monthly pool is empty, so a top up you bought earlier is never consumed while you still have monthly allowance left, and it is never lost at your reset date.

Do you support PPP discounts?

No. Prices are standard globally. Discounts are based on tier benefits, not geography.

Do the discounts on extra credits apply to AppSumo tiers?

Yes. Tier-based top-up discounts apply on top of the listed prices and are calculated automatically at checkout. For example, with a 5% top-up discount, the $20 pack costs $19.

When do credits reset?

Credits reset based on the date you redeemed or started your plan, not the calendar month. If you activated on June 15, they reset on July 15. Monthly credits do not roll over, but extra credits do.

Does keyword research use AI credits?

No. Keyword research is unlimited and does not consume AI credits. Neither does rank tracking, website auditing, traffic analytics, topic clusters, or competitor tracking.

Where can I see what used my credits?

Open Settings -> Billing & Plans -> Usage History. It charts your spend by category and Brand, itemises every charge, and exports to CSV. For ways to reduce it, see how to optimize your AI credit usage.

Can I change a brand later?

Yes. You can change a brand's domain once every 30 days. Changing the domain wipes all existing data for that brand and starts fresh.

AI Models, Prompt Tracking & BYOK

What qualifies as a prompt response?

One prompt response is one AI answer, from one provider, for one prompt, on one refresh. It costs 15 credits.

So tracking 8 prompts on 1 provider costs 120 credits per refresh. Tracking those same 8 prompts across 8 providers costs 960 credits per refresh.

Because the charge repeats every refresh, your monthly cost is prompts x providers x 15 x refreshes per month. Slowing your refresh interval is the biggest lever on that number.

Which LLMs does prompt tracking cover?

ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Meta AI, DeepSeek, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Google AI Overviews, and Google AI Mode.

Access depends on your tier. Tier 1 includes ChatGPT; Tier 2 adds DeepSeek and Meta AI; Tier 3 adds Gemini and Kimi; Tier 4 adds Claude and Perplexity; Tiers 5 and above add Copilot, Google AI Overviews, and Google AI Mode. The model picker on the AI Visibility page always shows exactly what your account can enable.

Why do tiers discriminate between AI models?

Some models are significantly more expensive to run, but every model costs the same 15 credits per response by design. Limiting model access on lower tiers is what keeps lifetime plans feasible.

We are exploring letting you choose any model regardless of tier, while limiting the number of providers or total usage instead.

Can I change my refresh interval?

Yes, and weekly refreshes have already shipped. Your tier sets the fastest interval you can select, and you can always choose a slower one to save credits:

  • Tiers 1 and 2: as often as every 15 days

  • Tiers 3 and 4: as often as every 7 days

  • Tiers 5 and above: as often as every 3 days

The selectable options are 30, 15, 7, and 3 days, subject to your tier's floor. Set it in Settings -> Automation -> AI Visibility. All future improvements remain included with your purchase.

You can also refresh any single prompt on demand at any time, which charges 15 credits per enabled platform immediately.

Is BYOK available for AppSumo users?

BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) is planned and will be available for AppSumo Tier 3 and above. It will cover AI-based tasks including article generation and prompt tracking.

Which AI models are used for content generation?

SnowSEO runs a pipeline of specialised models: web-search-enabled reasoning models for research, a reasoning model for titles and outlines, a frontier writing model for the draft, fast mini models for iterations and autocomplete, and a dedicated image model. The exact models change as better ones become available, and your credit cost never changes when they do.

Do I need my own API key for integrations?

No. SnowSEO handles all AI infrastructure internally. You do not need to bring API keys for content generation or any standard feature. BYOK is an optional future feature for users who prefer their own keys.

Brands, Agencies & Scaling

Why are brands limited in the tiers?

SnowSEO runs deep continuous scans for every brand and competitor, plus multiple accuracy checks before showing any data, and none of that charges credits. Brand limits keep the quality high and make lifetime deals feasible.

Higher tiers scale considerably: Tier 5 includes 20 brands and Tier 6 includes 50.

Can agencies get bulk discounts for more brands?

Yes. Email [email protected] to discuss your requirements. We can offer discounts on bulk brand additions for agencies managing many client sites.

Can I use SnowSEO for client sites?

Yes. Add each client site as a separate brand, and invite team members or clients to your Organisation. Seat allowances scale with your tier, from 1 on Tier 1 up to 50 on Tier 6.

Website Audit & Integrations

Any limitation on website size for audits?

Your allowance is counted in pages audited per month. Tier 1 covers 500 pages, rising to 12,000 on Tier 6. For sites with tens of thousands of pages you would need a higher tier, and you can exclude sections of your site from the audit to spend the allowance where it matters.

Audits do not consume AI credits.

Is unlimited topic clusters truly unlimited?

Yes. There is no cap on the number of topic clusters you can create, and building or refreshing them is free.

Does SnowSEO work with any website builder?

Yes. It does not matter what technology you use: WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, Framer, Shopify, Mobirise, or custom HTML. SnowSEO audits, tracks keywords, monitors AI visibility, and generates content regardless of your stack. Direct one-click publishing requires a supported CMS integration.

Do you provide RSS feeds and webhooks?

Both are available now. Every published Brand feed has an RSS endpoint, and webhook integration is supported for custom setups.

Can I publish on my own domain?

Yes. Every Brand gets a free SnowCMS address automatically, and you can also connect your own domain or subdomain with a CNAME and a TXT record in Settings -> Content & CMS -> CMS Domain.

How many Google Search Console accounts can I link?

One Search Console property per brand. If you manage multiple sites, create a separate brand for each and connect the matching property. SnowSEO can read up to 16 months of history, which is Google's own retention limit.

Can I create audit PDFs for customers in any language?

Yes. Website audits work regardless of your site's language, because the checks cover technical infrastructure and content structure, which apply universally. You can export PDF reports to share with clients.

Content & Future Features

Are articles limited to 1,000 words?

No. You choose from three length bands when creating an article:

  • Short, 800 to 1,000 words, about 100 credits

  • Medium, 1,800 to 2,000 words, about 200 credits

  • Long, 2,800 to 3,000 words, about 300 credits

If you need something longer than the Long band, generate it as a pillar page and extend it in the editor, which is completely free. Editing never costs credits.

Does SnowSEO create backlinks?

Not today. SnowSEO does not build backlinks for you, and it never will in the "buy links" sense.

What it does now is help you find them: analyse any domain's authority and backlink profile, see which sources AI platforms already cite in your niche, and identify relevant sites worth approaching.

A dedicated Backlink Outreach module is in active development. It will cover automated prospecting and personalised email sequences, so you can run outreach campaigns without leaving SnowSEO. You can already see it in the sidebar, and it will unlock for eligible tiers when it ships. As with every other improvement, it is included with your purchase at no extra cost.

Will monthly search volumes be added to rank tracking?

Search volume is already shown alongside your tracked keywords, together with difficulty and the URL that is currently ranking.

Can I select multiple keywords in bulk for different countries?

Yes. You can bulk import keywords and assign different countries to each one.

How does competitor analysis work?

SnowSEO detects your competitors during Brand setup, visits their websites to understand their strategy, tracks them at regular intervals, and surfaces the gaps. On the topic map you can see exactly which keywords and prompts they win that you do not target yet. You can edit the competitor list any time in Brand Settings -> Competitors.
