If something you expected to happen automatically did not happen, work through these in order. The first one accounts for most cases.
1. Check your credit balance
When your AI credits run out, every AI-powered action stops. This is the single most common reason an automation appears broken.
Important: skipped prompt refreshes are not queued up and charged later. If a scheduled refresh lands while your balance is empty, that cycle is simply missed, and the next one runs normally once you have credits again.
What stops:
Article generation and regeneration
Scheduled AI Visibility prompt refreshes
Auto Optimize and auto content refresh
What keeps working: rank tracking, website and page audits, keyword research, traffic analytics, competitor tracking, and everything you edit by hand.
Check your balance in Settings -> Billing, and see exactly where it went in the Usage History tab. If this keeps happening, read how to optimize your AI credit usage.
2. My prompts have not refreshed
Check the tracking frequency you are actually on. Prompts refresh on your Brand's tracking frequency, not on a fixed daily schedule. Your plan sets the fastest option available, and you or a teammate may have selected a slower one:
Starter: as often as every 7 days
Pro: as often as every 3 days
Scale: as often as every day
The selectable options are 30, 15, 7, 3, and 1 day. Check and change yours in Settings -> Automation -> Prompt Tracking. Each prompt shows its last checked timestamp in the AI Visibility dashboard.
A newly added prompt has no data. Its first check happens on the next scheduled refresh. If you cannot wait, refresh it manually. That charges 15 credits per enabled platform straight away.
One platform has no results while others do. That platform may not be included in your plan. Open the same Prompt Tracking settings screen: platforms you cannot enable are shown but not selectable. Claude and Perplexity require Scale, and most others require Pro or above.
3. A scheduled article did not generate or publish
Credits. See step 1. Generation will not start without enough credits for the article's length band, which is roughly 100, 200, or 300.
Check the article's status in the Articles list. An article that never left draft was never triggered, which is a different problem from one that generated and failed to publish.
Check the CMS connection. If generation succeeded but nothing reached your site, the publishing step is what failed. Open Settings -> Integrations -> CMS Publishing and confirm the integration still shows as connected. Tokens and application passwords get revoked without warning.
Check your cache. A post can publish successfully and still not appear, because your caching layer is serving a stale page. Clear WP Rocket, LiteSpeed, W3 Total Cache, or your host's page cache.
Check the scheduled time and timezone. Scheduling is based on the time you set, so an item scheduled in the past will not fire retroactively.
For WordPress specifically, see WordPress connection troubleshooting.
4. A scheduled audit did not run
Check your page audit allowance. Audits do not use AI credits, but they do consume your plan's monthly page audit quota. Once it is exhausted, scheduled audits stop until your billing cycle resets. Starter includes 500 pages per month, Pro 2,000, and Scale plans from 3,000 up to 20,000.
Check the schedule is still enabled in Settings -> Automation -> On-Page SEO, where the Always-On Audit toggle lives.
Check your Excluded URLs. Pages on that list are skipped entirely, which is easy to forget if a teammate added them.
Large sites take time. A crawl of a big site is not instant, and results appear progressively rather than all at once.
Check your site is reachable. If your site blocks crawlers by User-Agent or is behind a password wall, the audit cannot fetch pages. The same firewall guidance in the WordPress article applies.
5. Rankings have not updated
Google's own delay. Search Console data is published one to three days behind. The most recent days will always look empty or partial, permanently. Look at a 28 day window instead.
Check the integration. If Search Console has disconnected, nothing new will arrive. Reconnect it in Settings -> Integrations -> SEO & AI Tools.
New keywords need history. A keyword you just started tracking has no "change since yesterday" until a second day of data exists.
Still stuck?
Email [email protected] with the Brand name, what you expected to happen, roughly when it should have run, and a screenshot of the relevant screen. That is usually enough for us to find it in the logs straight away.
