How article generation works
SnowSEO uses a multi-stage AI pipeline to write articles. Research, drafting, and refinement each use specialised models to produce high-quality, SEO-optimised content, and each article is targeted at both a keyword and an AI prompt so it can rank on Google and get cited by AI assistants.
How to generate an article
Go to Content in the sidebar.
Click New Article.
Pick the topic cluster it belongs to, and the keyword or prompt you want to target. You can also start from the topic map by clicking a gap.
Choose the article type and post type, then pick a length: Short, Medium, or Long.
Optionally add Custom Instructions for this specific article, such as the angle to take, what to include, or what to avoid.
Click Generate. The draft is written and ready to review shortly.
Can I edit the generated article?
Yes, and editing is completely free. Every generated article opens in a full editor where you can rewrite sections, adjust headings, add images, and iterate before publishing. There is also an Autocomplete shortcut that continues writing in your voice from wherever your cursor is.
How much does generating an article cost?
It depends on the length you choose:
Length | Target words | Credits |
Short | 800 to 1,000 | ~100 |
Medium | 1,800 to 2,000 | ~200 |
Long | 2,800 to 3,000 | ~300 |
The estimate is shown in the wizard before you confirm, and the featured image is included at no extra cost. Check your balance in Settings -> Billing.
How to publish to your CMS
SnowSEO publishes directly to connected CMS platforms including WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, Framer, and Grigora. Connect yours in Settings -> Integrations -> CMS Publishing, then publish or schedule straight from the editor.
If you do not have a CMS, every Brand also gets a free SnowCMS address, and you can point your own domain at it. See Settings -> Content & CMS -> SnowCMS.
Common questions
Is there a word count limit?
You choose from three length bands, up to roughly 3,000 words. If you need more, generate a Long article and extend it in the editor, which is free.
Does regenerating cost credits?
Yes, the full article cost again. Editing is free, and Auto Optimize or auto content refresh are cheaper middle-ground options. See article privacy, credits, and connected pages.
Can I control the tone and angle?
Yes. Set your Brand's content guidelines in Brand Settings for everything, and use Custom Instructions for a specific article. See customizing articles and choosing the right format.
Does SnowSEO create backlinks?
Not directly. It helps you identify relevant sites and outreach opportunities in your niche, and a dedicated Backlink Outreach module is in active development.
