Where to find Keyword Research
Go to Tools → SEO Tools → Keyword Research.
The same research tool also opens inside Rank Tracking and Topical Authority when you click Add new keyword.
Two ways to research
Start with Keyword
Enter one or more keywords, up to 20 at once
Press Enter or comma to add each keyword
SnowSEO generates related ideas with volume and difficulty
Start with Website
Enter any website URL
SnowSEO analyzes it and surfaces relevant keywords
Researching your own website is free and does not use a credit
Reading the results
Each row shows:
Keyword - the search term you could target
Monthly Searches - estimated monthly search volume
Difficulty - how hard it is to rank, shown with a color dot (green for easy, amber for medium, red for hard)
Trend - a 12 month search volume sparkline
CPC - average cost per click, a useful proxy for commercial value
Results sort by Monthly Searches by default. Toggle Sort by Relevance to rank by the best balance of high volume and low difficulty.
Acting on keywords
Each keyword has two quick actions:
Track keyword - adds it to your Rank Tracking list so SnowSEO monitors its position daily
Add to topic - drops it into a Topic Cluster in Topical Authority
Look for keywords with decent volume and low difficulty first. These are your fastest wins. The Sort by Relevance toggle surfaces them automatically.
Does keyword research use AI credits?
No. Keyword research uses its own credit pool, separate from AI credits. Researching your own website is always free. Each search for competitor or seed keywords uses one keyword research credit.
How this connects to Topic Clusters
When you find a good keyword, use Add to topic to drop it into a Topic Cluster. Building clusters of related keywords is how you develop topical authority. Sites that use this strategy consistently outrank sites that publish random standalone articles.
