How AI credits work in practice

What consumes credits, what does not, how far your monthly allowance goes, and what happens when you run out.

What uses AI credits

AI credits are consumed by actions that require artificial intelligence processing.

Article generation

  • 1000 words article uses approximately 100 credits

  • This includes research, drafting, and refinement

  • Changing the word count to 2000, 3000 will proportionally increase the credits usage.

AI image generation

  • Each EXTRA generated image uses 5 credits (if you decide to edit the generated draft and generate additional images)

Stock image search

  • Each EXTRA search uses 2 credits

Prompt tracking

  • Each AI platform response uses 15 credits

  • Tracking one prompt across 1 platform(like ChatGPT) uses 200 credits per refresh cycle

What does not use AI credits

These features do not touch your AI credit balance:

  • Keyword Rank Tracking - monitored daily regardless of credits

  • Website Audits - page audits have their own monthly limit

  • Keyword Research - unlimited on all paid plans

  • Traffic Analytics - pulling data from Google Search Console and Analytics

  • Topic Clusters - generating and updating clusters

  • Competitor Analysis - tracking competitor rankings and visibility

How far your credits go

Starter plan with 3,000 credits

Scenario 1 - Publishing focus:

  • 20 articles per month (2,000 credits) - 100 credits/article

  • Remaining: 1,000 credits for prompt tracking or extra articles

Scenario 2 - AI visibility focus:

  • 20 articles (2,000 credits)

  • Track 20 prompts across 4 platforms (1200 credits) - 15 credits/response

  • This exceeds the 3,000 limit, so you would need to either generate fewer articles or track fewer prompts

What happens when credits run out

  • Article generation pauses until your next billing cycle or until you purchase extra credits

  • Prompt tracking pauses

  • Rank tracking, audits, traffic data, and keyword research continue working normally

  • Existing published content and reports remain accessible

You are never charged automatically for extra credits. You must manually purchase a top up pack.

How credit reset works

Credits refresh on your billing cycle, not the calendar month.

If you subscribed on the 15th, your credits reset on the 15th of each month. If you subscribed on the 3rd, they reset on the 3rd.

Unused credits that comes with the plan do not roll over. Plan your usage around your reset date.

If you purchase extra Credits, they DO NOT expire and have lifetime validity.
