What are AI credits?
AI credits are the currency used for any action in SnowSEO that requires AI — primarily article generation and prompt tracking. Every plan comes with a monthly credit allowance.
How much do actions cost?
Action | Credits used |
Generate 1 article (1k words) | ~100 credits |
Track 1 prompt response | 15 credits |
Example: With 500 credits you can generate 5 articles, or track 26 prompts responses, or a mix of both.
What does not use AI credits?
Non-AI features do not utilize AI Credits. e.g.Keyword rank tracking does not consume AI credits. The number of keywords you can track is determined by your plan.
Which AI models does SnowSEO use?
SnowSEO uses a pipeline of models depending on the task (as on 15th Jun):
Research - Claude Opus 4.8
Images - GPT Image 2
Drafting - GPT 5.5 for drafts and mini/nano for iterations and autocomplete
The models used may change over time as newer and more capable models become available.
How to check your remaining credits
Go to Settings → Billing to see your current credit balance, usage, and plan details.
What happens when credits run out?
AI-powered actions (article generation, prompt tracking) will be paused until credits are topped up or your plan renews. Credits reset based on the date you started your plan or redeemed your code, not on the calendar month. For example, if you activated SnowSEO on June 15, your credits will refresh on July 15.
Unused credits do not carry over to the next cycle, so it is worth planning your usage around your renewal date. Rank tracking, existing reports, and non-AI features continue working normally even if you run out of AI credits
If you purchased any extra Credits, they DO NOT expire and have lifetime validity.
