AI credits are the currency used for any action in SnowSEO that requires AI, primarily article generation and prompt tracking. Every plan comes with a monthly credit allowance.

The featured (main) image on a generated article is included in the article cost and is not charged separately.

Example: with 500 credits you can generate 5 short articles, or record 33 prompt responses, or a mix of both.

Non-AI features never consume credits. Keyword rank tracking, keyword research, website and page audits, traffic analytics, topic clusters, and competitor tracking are all governed by plan limits rather than credits.

Go to Settings -> Billing to see your current credit balance and plan details.

For a breakdown of where credits went, open the Usage History tab in the same place. It charts consumption by category and Brand, lists every individual charge, and exports to CSV. Open Usage History

AI-powered actions such as article generation and prompt tracking pause until credits are topped up or your plan renews. Rank tracking, existing reports, audits, and all non-AI features continue working normally.

Credits reset based on the date you started your plan or redeemed your code, not the calendar month. If you activated SnowSEO on June 15, your credits refresh on July 15.

Unused plan credits do not carry over to the next cycle, so it is worth planning your usage around your renewal date.

If you purchased any extra credits, they do not expire and have lifetime validity.

Your monthly plan credits are always used first. Extra credits are only drawn on after the monthly pool is exhausted, so buying a top up early never wastes it, and it survives every reset until you actually need it.
